Halliday Magazine and Xanadu Wine Dinners

You’re invited to join us for the Halliday Magazine and Xanadu Dinners

Xanadu has teamed up with Halliday Magazine to bring to you a series of intimate wine dinners in Melbourne and Perth to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of Xanadu Wines.

Xanadu has long been known for producing wines of pedigree. In 2014, James Halliday awarded winemaker Glenn Goodall’s 2011 Stevens Road Cabernet Sauvignon Wine of the Year (with a 99-point score to match). After 40 years of excellence, this icon Margaret River winery has plenty to celebrate.

On the night you will enjoy a special menu created by Mark Best, Head Chef of Marque Restaurant in Sydney (that closed its door only recently after 17 year). In collaboration with Guillaume Perth, Stokehouse Melbourne and Stokehouse Q in Brisbane, Mark has created a menu centred on Margaret River’s pristine produce, which will be paired with top Xanadu wines from the past 40 years, including some rare back vintages.

Our winemaker, Glenn Goodall, will be showcasing the pre-release of the Xanadu Reserve wines which are not due to be released until June 2017. Exclusively for the night, we will be bringing along some museum wines that have been hand selected by Glenn.

As a special treat, our wine club members will have the opportunity to meet with Glenn, one on one for a glass of wine before the dinners commence.

These are the wines you’ll enjoy on the night:

What James Halliday says:
“In my mind, Xanadu has established itself as one of the greatest Margaret River winemakers, yet its class isn’t fully understood by eastern States’ consumers. It won gold medals in classes 2, 3, 4, 15, 16, 19, 22, 23 and 33 in the local derby, the 2016 Margaret River Wine Show, being the sole gold medal winner in classes 19 and 33, for good measure it won three gold medals in class 3 (with Cabernet Sauvignon) and two in class 33 (with Chardonnay). No other winery came close to matching Xanadu’s overall success, nor in the number of golds for the region’s strength, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. It won the Wine of the Year award in the 2015 Halliday Wine Companion with its 2011 Stevens Road Cabernet Sauvignon.

I congratulate Xanadu on its 40 years, and am sure those who join Xanadu in the celebration dinners will greatly enjoy the experience.”

Don’t miss this opportunity to taste a historic selection of wines from one of Margaret River’s great wineries.
